The Trustees of CIT believe that relatively small amounts of funding can make a real difference to people with new and emerging ideas. Sometimes its difficult for individuals to gather funds to test an idea before growing it further and developing an organisation - it can be a challenge for small organisations to try new and better ideas out. CIT offers the opportunity for the best ideas that promote the Christian faith and/or help communities as an expression of that faith to be trialled and - hopefully, in time - grown.

We've analysed our grants from 1995-2005 to help you understand some of our patterns grant making. We hope this helps you tailor any application to CIT.

Grants made during the last 10 years:

  • Range from £500-£5,000 and occasionally more
  • Average £3,300
  • Are for up to 1 year - but may be for less time if it's a specific event or series of events
  • You may reapply after one year if your work is developing and you are not seeking a grant for ongoing work
  • CIT mainly makes grants in the UK or, if international, then these applicants tended to have UK links and/or a funding relationship with another Trust
    or Church.
