The Christian Initiative Trust was established in 1968 by Cecil Jackson Cole, a UK business man who believed that business had a moral and social responsibility to work in partnership with and support of charity. Jackson Cole’s own work and beliefs were of the Quaker tradition and he wanted to support individuals and organisations to make a difference in sharing the faith and/or supporting new ways of working which helped those in need in our communities. A self-made man, Jackson Cole, developed his business interests principally via Andrews and Partners, the UK's 11th largest independent estate agency (and related) business www.Andrewsonline.co.uk Towards the end of his life, Cecil Jackson Cole formalised his commitment to utilise business management expertise and funds to promote faith and for a range of charitable purposes, thus creating three charitable trusts. Our two sister Trusts are: Andrews Charitable Trust (ACT) www.Andrewscharitabletrust.org.uk Christian Book Promotion Trust (CBPT) www.christianbookpromotions.org.uk All three Trusts have different purposes, operate and are run independently. Making on average between 10-12 grants each year - we fund only those that demonstrate that their work fits our policies.
